Switching from Toast Loyalty to LoyaltyPass
Toast Loyalty ties your customer data to Toast POS and charges a percentage of sales. LoyaltyPass is POS-independent: export your data, issue branded wallet passes, and keep your loyalty program no matter what payment processor you use.
Why businesses leave Toast Loyalty
These are the friction points that push merchants to switch.
Toast Loyalty is locked to Toast POS. Switching payment processors means losing your entire loyalty program and customer history.
There is no branded loyalty card. Customers earn points attached to a phone number. Nothing digital or physical exists for them to carry, open, or engage with.
Toast Loyalty charges a percentage of sales on top of a monthly base fee. For high-volume restaurants, this becomes significantly more expensive than standalone loyalty platforms.

How to migrate, step by step
Follow these steps in order. Most businesses complete the full switch in a single afternoon.
- 1

15 minutes - 2
Set up your LoyaltyPass program
Sign up at LoyaltyPass and choose your program type. If migrating a points program, choose points. If you want to add stamp cards, choose stamps or both. Upload your logo and configure reward rules.

20 minutes - 4
Distribute new wallet passes
Use LoyaltyPass to email or SMS each customer their wallet pass link. The pass adds to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet instantly with no app download.

LoyaltyPass and Toast POS operate independently. Cancel your Toast Loyalty add-on at renewal. Nothing needs to be disconnected from your Toast terminal.

What happens to your customer data
Toast Loyalty point balances are stored in your loyalty reports, separate from your customer export. Download both files before starting: the customer CSV for names and emails, and the loyalty report for point totals. When importing into LoyaltyPass, set each customer's starting balance from the loyalty report so everyone keeps their existing progress.

Frequently asked questions

- Does Toast Loyalty offer wallet passes?
- No. Toast Loyalty tracks points by phone number at the POS. There is no digital or physical loyalty card for customers to carry. LoyaltyPass issues real passes that live in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
- Can I run a stamp card program on LoyaltyPass after leaving Toast Loyalty?
- Yes. LoyaltyPass supports both stamp cards and points programs. You can run one or both at the same time, something Toast Loyalty does not support.
- How do I get my customers' point balances out of Toast?
- In your Toast Dashboard, go to Loyalty > Reports and export the loyalty summary. This gives you each customer's current point balance, which you import into LoyaltyPass as their starting balance.

- With LoyaltyPass, your loyalty program and customer data are completely independent of any POS. You can switch from Toast to any other system without touching your loyalty history.
