Notifications

Send a message directly to your customers' phones - it appears on their lock screen, just like a text message, but without the cost. No app required. The message lands on Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes automatically. You send notifications from inside a loyalty program, and review what you've sent on the program's History tab.

Sending a Notification

  1. 1

Open a program from Loyalty Programs and go to its Pass Holders tab, then click Send notification.

  2. 2

Choose your audience: All pass holders, a saved filter, or a custom selection of individual customers (see below).

  3. 3

Write your title (keep it short - under 40 characters is ideal for lock screens) and your message.

  4. 4

Hit send. Delivery happens in real time.

Notifying Hand-Picked Customers

When you want to reach a specific handful of people rather than a whole filtered group, you can select them individually:

  1. 1

Open a program and go to its Pass Holders tab.

  2. 2

Tick the checkbox next to each customer you want to notify. Use the header checkbox to select everyone on the current page, and your selection carries across pages.

  3. 3

Click Notify selected to send a notification to exactly those customers.

Good to knowOnly customers who've added their pass to a wallet can be selected - anyone without a wallet pass shows a dash instead of a checkbox, since there's nowhere to deliver the message. You can hand-pick up to 500 customers at a time; for larger audiences, use filters or a saved filter instead.
Ideas for notifications"Double points all weekend - come in and earn!" · "You're just 100 points away from a free reward!" · "Your membership renews in 7 days" · "New seasonal menu is here - visit us this week"
Don't overdo itSending too many notifications can cause customers to disable them. Aim for once or twice a week maximum, and only send when you have something genuinely valuable to say.

Notification History

After sending, every notification is logged on the program's History tab so you can track how it performed:
